Mystery Reader

Today we welcomed our third mystery reader into Room 9.  We had some clues to help us discover who it was going to be.
~ My favourite colour is red.
~ I come from a family with seven children.
~ I am tall and I like to exercise.
~ I enjoy dancing.
~ I like to read.
There were a number of children who thought they could guess, but no one did!
Who could it be?
Thanks Tekweni for reading See You Later Alligator by Rina A. Foti.  We enjoyed reading, snap, snap, snappity-snap when it came up in the book.

Bike West – 27th to 31st May

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Each day next week (27th – 31st May) Room 9 will be working with Bike West.  Children will be learning and practising bike skills.  Please allow your child to bring their bike and helmet as often as possible.  We will be using the courts or the hall if wet.  Our sessions are usually in the afternoon (1:30 – 2:30) except for Tuesday (9:30-10:30).
On Tuesday afternoon Karekare is hosting the School Assembly from approx. 2:15–2:45.
Regards
Glenys Holt

Spare bikes and helmets will be available if your child can not bring one.
Happy to store bikes at school if they can't go home each night.

Rebekah's Mother's Day Card

  1. First I drew me and my mummy and then I drew my imagination.
  2. I coloured them in.  It took me about two or three days.
  3. I got my ruler and my pencil and three colours.  I used my ruler with my blue colouring vivid.  I used my pencil to write my words.  Then I traced my words with my red and green vivids.
Then I rubbed the pencil work out.
  4. I drew a picture of a girl.
  5. I folded it in half and my mummy loved it.

Cooking Up a Storm

As part of his home learning Milind has been cooking meals for his family.  He has made burgers, pizza and a yummy breakfast.
Fish finger burger with tartare sauce and a side of chips.

Neighbourhood Clean Up

I decided to go pick up rubbish up Drower Road.  I went with my Mum, brother and my dog, Mack.  We filled a whole Waitakere City rubbish bag.  We left it on the road to collect in the car.
Laken
What a mess!
The rubbish bag is filling quickly.
Thanks for the help Rhys.

Milind's Gift

Milind decided that when his family had some plants they no longer wanted he could donate them to the school.  With Mr Iain's help they are now planted and help make our school look wonderful.  What a great idea Milind!  Thank you.
This is what the area looked like before the planting.
What a difference the new plants make!
