Laurel Burch Art Works

We discovered the art works of Laurel Burch and were inspired by her Fantastical Felines to create our own cat art works.

Parth Plays Soccer

Parth plays soccer (whoops we mean football) at Oratia United.  He passed three skills tests and got a medal and a certificate. Way to go Parth!

Heart and Brain Art Works

Mrs Shepherd helped us create these art works based on out heart and brain.

Warren Pohatu Art

We created these art works after looking at and discussing the work of Warren Pohatu.  It was with great sadness we learned of Warren's death on April 25th before we had completed the work.  Warren had a connection to Summerland through his extended family and we were firtunate to have him visit us in 2010. He donated one of his prints which we hang proudly in reception.

Describe 100

We celebrated 100 Days of learning on Monday the 21st of July.  One of the activities was to tell what we know about 100. We added our ideas to a padlet.

Fact Fanatics

Mrs Brown is once again running the 'Facts Fanatics Competition'.  If you enter the competition you will be given one minute to correctly answer as many maths facts as you can.  There will be a winner for each year level.  If you want to get a head start on the learning you can click on this link –

What makes aircraft fly?

We learnt about the forces of lift, thrust, weight and drag and how they are used to help airplanes fly. We created flying objects and used our breath as the thrust.

We watched these videos to help us understand the forces of thrust, lift, weight and drag.
