Butterfly Art

Butterfly Art from SPS Superstars on Vimeo.

We created these art works with a variety of media.  First we looked at lots of photos of butterfies and sketched some to gather our ideas.  Next we created our own butterfly shapes and added patterns in a symmetrical design.  Then we dyed the butterflies and used vivid to outline our shapes and patterns.  Our backgrounds were made with paint using brushes, rollers and sponges.

Xavier's Grass Man

Xavier made this grass man at PINs with Miss Vidal.  He has watered it at home and brought it back to show us just how well it is growing.

Chan Yu's Walk

Chan Yu and his family went for a walk to Nihotupu Dam In the Waitakere Ranges as one of his home learning challenges.  He enjoyed the challenge and was scared and excited when he saw the dam.  What do you know about the Nihotupu Dam?  Click here if you want to know more about this walk.

Olivia's Giving

On Friday Olivia shared her giving home learning challenge with us.  She went to an abandoned orchard and picked the apples to donate to the Salvation Army.  Well done Olivia, we are proud of your kind, caring actions.
